SYSTEM TECHNICIAN

Pearl River Valley Electric Power Association (PRVEPA) has an opening for a System Technician. This position will be working out of the Columbia, MS office but will be responsible for work throughout the PRVEPA service territory. The system technicians work directly with the engineering staff, district offices, and other technicians. Applicants must have experience or relevant training in power, relaying, control circuits, test equipment, electrical diagrams and schematics. At least two (2) years of college or experience with an electric utility is preferred. Training in metering, programmable logic controls, and Rural Utilities Services construction standards are also desirable. Primary responsibility will include installing, testing, and maintaining relays, breakers, reclosers, regulators, substations, SCADA and AMR systems, and all related equipment. Applicants must have an understanding and knowledge of how to read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, construction specifications, and drawings.
